Rolfing

RolfingĀ® Structural Integration is a holistic system of soft tissue manipulation and movement education that organizes the whole body in gravity. Dr. Rolf discovered that she could achieve remarkable changes in posture and structure by manipulating the body’s myofascial system.

Rolfing has the ability to dramatically alter a person’s posture and structure. People seek Rolfing as a way to ease pain and chronic stress, and improve performance in their professional and daily activities. Research has shown that Rolfing creates more efficient use of muscles, allows the body to conserve energy, and creates more economical and refined patterns of moving. Rolfing also significantly reduces chronic stress, while enhancing neurological functioning.

The purpose of Rolfing Movement is to identify movement patterns that promote strain and asymmetry in the body. Once these patterns are identified, the practitioner seeks to offer more economical solutions, promoting greater balance and efficiency. While Rolf Movement can be explored by clients who have completed a structural series, it serves equally well as a stand-alone tool for achieving higher levels of self-awareness and body coherence.

Kelle was trained through the Rolf Institute of Structural Integration in Sao Paulo, Brazil in 1999, and was certified in Rolf Movement in 2000.
